Registered Nurse
Intensive Care & Surgical Center Leadership
Created by a nurse. Refined by a mom. Built for families.
Emily Gross, BSN, RN, began working in healthcare at age 15, discovered a deep passion for nursing and patient care, became a registered nurse in 2017, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2021.
Her professional career spans bedside nursing in intensive care units caring for critically ill children, as well as leadership as a surgical-center nurse manager. In those high-stakes clinical environments, Emily witnessed firsthand how understanding the body—or lacking fundamental body knowledge—directly impacts health outcomes and parental peace of mind.
When Emily later became a homeschooling mom, she turned to the available elementary health curriculum options and found a striking gap. Most materials were either flimsy workbooks with disconnected word searches, or overly technical manuals that children quickly forgot. Almost none taught young children how to read everyday body signals, distinguish minor bumps from urgent concerns, or grasp the scientific reasons behind handwashing and balanced eating.
She created Health Spark to bring the clarity, warmth, and grounded wisdom of nursing directly to kitchen tables and elementary classrooms.
